Jacques Marie Mage Stanley Kubrick by JMM: 1948 Willow are unique, collector’s-edition sunglasses created as part of Jacques Marie Mage’s collaboration dedicated to the work of Stanley Kubrick's. The model is inspired by the frames worn by the young Kubrick in 1948, when he was working as a photographer for *Look* magazine. The distinctive, rounded silhouette with a strongly defined brow line combines the intellectual character of the mid-20th century with JMM’s bold, sculptural aesthetic. Variant Willow It features multi-layered acetate in deep, dark colours, complemented by transparent and subtly patterned elements, as well as warm-toned lenses Honey.

This is a model in which details relating directly to Kubrick are of particular significance. The frame is adorned with distinctive pins Arrowhead, and the earpieces were fitted with special metal cores Custom Kubrick Wirecore featuring engraved motifs inspired by his filmography. The inner surfaces of the temples also feature special inscriptions relating to the director. The design, made from 10-millimetre hardened cellulose acetate was compared with contact lenses CR39 4-Base in Honey, with an anti-reflective coating on the inside. The model is handcrafted in Japan and is both a pair of luxury everyday glasses and a fully-fledged collector’s item for cinema and design enthusiasts.
